“Who are you and what do you do?”
I’m Cony La Greca, Conceptual Artist. Photographer, Dj, Electronic Producer, work on movies and series doing backstage of photography and video. I do Art in general, mixing all the possible techniques, I like to create scenarios, based on the 5 senses, light, sounds, smell, touch, taste.

My latest works were mostly in Cinema and Netflix Series: with Underground Productions & Pampa Films.

What’s your background?
I am an economist. Afterward, I started taking courses an NYC & LA of Photography & Filmmaking.

“Explain what you do in 100 words”
I try to generate experiences in people. I know how to transmit concepts through art. I appreciate people, nature & communities’ behavior. I try to give positive messages to the world, but through senses, not with words. Life’s sometimes difficult, the Labyrinth of R-Evolution took me to a Healing Pathway & finally to my Renaissance at my 33 years old. I’m not religious, but I am spiritual. I believe in constructing with love, in collaboration with people with love. That’s the healing of humanity.

As I love documentary photography & music, I started my project of documenting DJs. I had the honor to be with: Ricardo Villalobos, Hernán Cattáneo, Nick Warren, John Digweed & Peggy Go. I will make a book with these backstage photos. Some of the photos are analog, those are my favorites.

I started being a Dj 5 years ago, representing some brands. And after knowing Hernán Cattáneo, he became my guide in music and music production. I then decided that I didn’t want to work as a Dj in events anymore because I wanted to create the music I love. So I decided to start producing, and from November 2019 to January 2020 I produced my first 3 tracks that are going to be released soon

“What music genre do you most identify with?”
I listened to music my whole life, soul, rock. And I like almost all genres. But in electronic I found my passion, it comes into my veins. Especially Progressive, deep progressive and melodic techno.

“What’s your scariest experience?”
I do not feel fear. I’ve been everywhere, from the most dangerous places to the most VIP places in the world. I fell comfortable everywhere

“What’s your favorite artwork?”
Right now I’m investigating Sebastian Salgado’s work: GENESIS. His photographies showing how that 46% of the planet is still not contaminated by humans. Communities where people live in harmony with nature.
I’m with a big project about AMAZONA. Amazonas where the woman warriors in Greek mythology. I’m not a feminist but understood the power of a woman when my little sister gave birth. I believe women are very powerful.
I’m making my Conceptual Art exhibition relating Woman with Nature. 5 scenarios. 5 senes. 5 Natural elements.
But I cannot choose one artwork, yesterday I saw Dixon, boiler room, from isolation, and I loved it.

“Describe a real-life situation that inspired you?”
Humans, poverty, communities, nature.

“What’s your most embarrassing moment?”
I do not feel much embarrassing, because I’m so natural that my absentmindedness and ignorance is innocent and funny.

“Why music?”
The music its like tele-transportation. You can choose where you wanna go.

“What memorable responses have you had to your work?”
I do my music for myself. I do not have “expectations” of what people think about it.
A memorable response was when I played my first track for my first time, with my brother sitting next to me, and all my best friends dancing on the top of the tables around me. I was so focused that first I didn’t even see them. One moment I turned my head up, and all of them where dancing to my music.
That was memorable.

“What do you like about your work?”
I like that I do whatever I want, i dont care much about rules. In Healing Pathway for example there’s a laugh of very very close friend of mine, that has schizophrenia, he has the best laugh in the world, and I added it to my track. For me, Alejandro Tobares, is one of the most important persons in my life. Its the representation of humility, unconditionality & transparency. He has NO filter. He has nothing. But he is always laughing.

“What superpower would you have and why?”
Being invisible. Sometimes I like not to be seen at all.

“What food, drink, song inspires you?”
Cheese & wine & honey whiskey.

“Name something you love, and why.”
I love my dog LORD, he is the best companion in this quarantine.

“Name something you don’t love, and why.”
I don’t like people judging. I don’t like Argentina’s government, they are very very bad human beings.

“What is your dream project?”
To have a Hostel, hand made by me, hosted by me, near the beach.

“Name three artists that inspire you”
Bob Moses, Paul Kalkbrenner, and Monolink

“What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?”
“Follow your heart & intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become”
Steve Jobs said it.

“Professionally, what’s your goal?”
Do what I love. Play music at big big stages with huge effects of lights, create a trip.

“What wouldn’t you do without?”
Nothing and nobody can stop my ideas and projects. I’ll do them alone, i don’t care.
